Press Release

Franklin County, December 8, 2015: The Triangle North Franklin Industrial Park has been approved as a Certified Site by John Skvarla III, Secretary of North Carolina Department of Commerce.   The approval as a Certified Site positions Triangle North Franklin among the top rankings for available sites for development in North Carolina.  This provides a distinct advantage for the site when marketed locally, regionally and by the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC).

The 220-acre site has undergone a rigorous pre-qualification process to ensure it meets the standards of the North Carolina Certified Sites Program.  The Program seeks to reduce the risks associated with development by providing detailed information to potential businesses including price and availability, utilities, access, environmental concerns and potential development costs.

All certified sites undergo a stringent review process demonstrating they’ve accomplished 31 prerequisites, including: Business/Industrial use designation; Phase I environmental audits; Geo-technical studies; topographical analysis and maps; aerial photography; availability of public utilities; industrial power quality; engineered site development plans; detailed analysis of development cost; complete information on pricing.

Franklin County has been aggressively marketing this site, along with the other Triangle North sites in Warren, Granville and Vance Counties.  Triangle North Franklin certification completes the process so now all Triangle North sites are certified, providing a competitive advantage for all sites.

“The investment in the access road, and the recent announcement of the potential 4-laning of US Hwy 401 to Royal, are two more attributes to offer potential customers,” stated  Franklin County Commissioner Don Lancaster, Chairman of the Kerr-Tar Regional Economic Development Corporation.   “Additionally, the Triangle North Franklin site is located adjacent to an airport, another advantage for Triangle North Franklin.”
